Violent clashes in Port-au-Prince
Tuesday, April 2nd, violent clashes continued between the police and armed individuals in downtown Port-au-Prince, mainly in the Champ de Mars area. Heavy weapon fire continues to ring out in other neighborhoods of the capital, 90% controlled by gangs.

Pétion-ville : 4 bandits killed
4 bandits were fatally injured Monday in exchanges of fire with the Police in Meyotte (Pétion-ville). Weapons and ammunition were seized by the PNH who received the support of the population of the area.

53,000 people fled the metropolitan region in 19 days
Tuesday April 2, 2024, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) revealed that more than 53,000 people fled the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince between March 8 and 27, 2024 to seek shelter from the indiscriminate violence of armed gangs. Gonaïves : Humanitarian cargo has arrived
"Over the past weekend the World Food Program (WFP) was able to ship humanitarian cargo by sea from Port-au-Prince to Gonaïves. We transported 18 trucks and light vehicles belonging to our partners. The shipment included medical supplies destined for the North of the country," informed Jean-Martin Bauer, WFP Representative in Haiti.
