Haiti - Bank loans : For eligible clients (circular)
Due to the troubles that Haiti is going through, the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) in its circular 115-5 authorizes financial institutions: commercial banks, development financial companies, leasing companies, savings cooperatives and credit, credit card companies, to be granted to any eligible debtor (businesses and individuals) who wishes to benefit from it, a moratorium running from April 1st to September 30, 2024.

Throughout the moratorium period, beneficiary customers will only have to pay interest on the debts. As for credit, it will be classified on September 30, 2023 ,"The moratorium implies a temporal shift in the customer's credit status between March 31, 2024 and September 30, 2024. At the expiration of said moratorium, the customer must resume normally the service of monthly debt (payment of capital and interest). The moratorium under this circular automatically results in an extension of the duration of the loan concerned of up to six months."
