Haiti - Canada : Training of the multinational force in Haiti continues in Jamaica

Military training for the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) in Haiti continues to make good progress in Jamaica, said Senator Kamina Johnson Smitha, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Jamaica.

Let's recall that approximately 70 members of the Canadian Armed Forces (FAC) belonging mainly to the 1st Battalion of the Royal 22nd Regiment in Valcartier, Quebec, were deployed on March 29 in Jamaica until April 26, 2024 to provide joint training to approximately 330 soldiers from Caricom countries (Bahamas, Belize and Jamaica) who should be deployed to Haiti as part of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) in support of the Haitian National Police in their fight against armed gangs.

The training will end on April 26, 2024.
