Haiti - Humanitarian : The US Air Force delivers 10 tons of medicine and medical supplies to Port-au-Prince

Saturday April 27, 2024 in the morning, a US Air Force C-130 flight landed at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince, with the delivery of humanitarian aid from the Denton program. This is the fourth flight this week.

The cargo contained nearly 10 tons (9.979 kg) of vital medicines for the Haitian people which were donated by the non-governmental organizations "MAP International" and "Lift Logistics" and "Hope for Haiti".

These medications and medical supplies will be distributed to 14 partners who treat more than 205,000 patients each year. These NGOs work closely with the Ministry of Public Health (MSPP) and organize mobile clinics under their direction and administer vaccines to children.

This mission was made possible thanks to the efforts of the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H) and the administrators and stakeholders of the international airport who strive to maintain the airport open and operations continuing.

Should be noted that this type of mission is made possible thanks to the Denton Amendment, a program of the Department of State and the United States Agency for International Development which authorizes the free delivery of humanitarian aid from the private sector using resources of the Air Forces according to the space available.

Let's remember that Haiti has already benefited from the Denton program in 2018 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23648-haiti-humanitarian-the-us-air-force-helps-haiti.html and 2011 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-3303-haiti-humanitarian-the-315th-airlift-wing-has-delivered-40-tons-of-humanitarian-aid.html
