Two months after the cancellation of flights to Haiti, American Airlines is postponing for the third time the resumption of its flights to and from Port-au-Prince for security reasons.

Let's recall that American Airlines suspended its flights on March 4, 2024, just like the two other American carriers JetBlue Airways and Spirit Airlines, following an attack on the Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince and that at least three domestic planes had been hit by bullets.

While travelers can book a one-way ticket from Miami for $125, a one-way ticket from Port-au-Prince to Miami costs $1,975 for a premium ticket. The main cabin will only be available June 4th and the cost of a ticket from Haiti to Miami is $882. The price of a one-way ticket to Miami then shows a significant drop.

Currently only the Haitian company Sunrise Airways transports passengers to and from Haiti via Hugo Chavez International Airport in Cap-Haïtien.
