![]() Haiti - Politic : Commemoration of the 221st creation of our national flag 17/05/2024 10:02:25
Edgard Leblanc Fils, President of the Presidential Transitional Council, Michel Patrick Boisvert, Acting Prime Minister, Fritz Deshomme, Rector of UEH and Nice Simon, Mayor of Tabarre are, among others, personalities who will speak during this event. Thursday May 16, Jean Edner Gilles, the interim executive agent of Arcahaie, said he had not been informed of this decision by the authorities. He affirms that the city of the flag will still celebrate in its own way the 221 years of creation of the national two-tone with the means at hand. Furthermore, the Embassy of Haiti in Canada announces that "the Haitian flag will once again fly from the mast of the Niagara town hall, on Friday, May 27, 2024. This event will mark a symbolic moment within the framework of the 221 years of the Haitian flag, created in Arcahaïe on May 18, 1803. On the evening of May 17, Niagara Falls will be illuminated in blue and red, the colors of the Haitian flag, from 9:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. thus offering a remarkable visual spectacle, the public is cordially invited to admire this magnificent tribute either by going to Niagara Park where local events will take place, or by following the link created by the "Niagara Falls Illumination Board" (camera live) : https://www.earthcam.com/canada/niagarafalls/?cam=niagarafalls_str The Embassy of Haiti would like to express its gratitude to the municipal authorities of Niagara for having responded favorably since 2021 to the request of Ambassador Weibert Arthus to declare May 18 "Haiti Day" in the city of Niagara. This initiative, which is being renewed this year this Friday, May 17, testifies to the excellence of the friendly relations between Canada and Haiti." HL/ HaitiLibre
