Haiti - Politic : The PM exchanges with many businessmen and businesswomen
Friday June 7, 2024, the Prime Minister, Garry Conille, held a meeting with many businessmen and businesswomen from different employers' associations.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere various points were discussed, in particular : insecurity and its negative impacts on economic activities and the humanitarian crisis caused by the violence of armed groups.

The discussions also made it possible to address other issues likely to have an impact on the business climate, such as the upcoming entry into force of the Tax Code, smuggling and corruption.

Conille also shared the major priorities of his next Government called to take, in concert with the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), all the necessary measures to reestablish a security environment and the implementation of a plan of humanitarian response.

He said he counted on the contribution of the private sector in the search for lasting solutions to the current crisis. In this context, he wishes to institutionalize a solid and permanent partnership between the State and employers, through the creation of a space for meetings and discussions, with a view to identifying the means to be implemented to be able to respond to concerns and difficulties expressed by stakeholders.

This space, which must be a real place for social dialogue and transparent consultation, could contribute to the harmonization, consolidation and dynamism between the State and the private business sector.
