Haiti - FLASH : Gang members flee Port-au-Prince before the deployment of the Multinational Mission
The upcoming deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission, led by Kenya, appears to have sowed fear in some gangs whose members have begun to leave Port-au-Prince.

According to several sources, gang members have started to move from the capital to provincial towns.

This change in gang strategy allows the Haitian National Police (PNH) to find them more easily; several reports seem to confirm an increase in arrests of bandits in the provinces...

Human rights organizations are calling on the authorities concerned to deploy more reinforcements to prevent the relocation of gangs to the provinces.

let's recall that President William Ruto, in a recent interview with BBC News, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42406-haiti-flash-new-delay-kenyan-forces-will-arrive-in-haiti-in-3-weeks.html declared that the deployment would take place in the next three weeks [NHL: around June 15, 2024]
