Artibonite : at least 8 people kidnapped From Sunday June 23 to Tuesday June 25, 2024, at least 8 people were kidnapped and trucks hijacked by members of the "Gran grif" gang, from Savien, in Artibonite, reported a radio station in the Capital. The kidnappers demand a high ransom in exchange for the release of the hostages A ambulance stolen The National Ambulance Center (CAN) informs the judicial and police authorities and the general public that on the afternoon of June 25, 2024 at around 4:30 p.m. armed individuals seized a CAN ambulance registered SE-00863, Mobile 307, in the commune of l'Ester, precisely in the Croix-Périsse area where these individuals operated. A complaint has been filed and efforts are continuing with the Police and other relevant authorities with a view to recovering the ambulance. CAN urges the population to be vigilant and pay attention to the license plates of CAN ambulances circulating in the streets. A 5th Haitian qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games Officials of the Haitian Olympic Committee have validated the qualification of judoka Philippe-Abel Metellus for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Signing of an agreement on cassava with the WFP The World Food Program (WFP) and the "Feed the Future" project have signed a 2-year agreement which will benefit, among others, nearly 3,000 small producers and 10 cassavereries.
