Jamaica : 14 Haitians repatriated

Thursday June 27, 2024, 14 Haitians (10 men and 4 women) in an irregular migration situation were repatriated to Haiti by the Jamaican authorities.

$31.2 million for the environment

Thursday June 27, 2024, Moïse Fils Jean Pierre, the Minister of the Environment, officially launched the "Climate resilience in the Trois-Rivières watershed" project. This crucial project for the sustainable management of land and water in Haiti is the result of collaboration between the Government, the "Green Climate Fund" (GCF), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-Haiti), and Heifer Haiti, aims to promote resilient agricultural practices and strengthen climate risk management. A greener future for Haiti. The project benefits from funding of $31.2 million over 8 years.

Blog competition, text of the 10 finalists

The European Union organized between May 9 and June 21, 2024 a blog/vlog competition intended for young people from the 10 departments of Haiti. Our objective was to promote this generation's ability to speak out about its environment and its concerns in its local context. Around sixty young people from across the country have registered for "Konkou Ayiti 2024".

National Forum of Civil Society Organizations

On the morning of Thursday, June 27, the Prime Minister, Garry Conille, officially launched the national forum of civil society organizations (June 27 to 28), around the theme "Participation of young people and women in the transitional process in course". In his opening remarks Conille said "I tell the young people and women of my country that they are not just the future of Haiti. They are the present of Haiti, not only because they each represent more than 50% of the population in their category, but because their rage to overcome adversity is a source of inspiration for those who lead the country.
