Mission : A second contingent should arrive "very quickly"

Tuesday in Washington, Prime Minister Garry Conille, on an official visit to the United States until July 6, affirmed in an interview with Agence France-Presse that a second contingent of the multinational force "“will arrive very quickly in Haiti", without mentioning a date or the number of men in this new contingent for strategic security reasons.

Garry Conille had an important meeting with Kristalina Georgiev, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss the impacts of the crisis, the Government's determination to address security, economic and social challenges, and the urgency to review the portfolio of current projects. UN : Conille at the Security Council

The security situation in Haiti will be at the heart of a meeting of the UN Security Council scheduled for this Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024. Prime Minister Garry Conille and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dominique Dupuy, must take part in these discussions which will relate in particular to the renewal of the mandate of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) which will end on July 15.
