Haiti - FLASH : A US military plane delivers armored vehicles to the Kenyan police

Saturday July 6, 2024, the first contingent of the Kenyan police in Haiti received via the American Embassy in Port-au-Prince various military equipment and materials to help it in its fight against armed gangs.

This equipment arrived aboard a US Air Force cargo plane registered 3125 at Toussaint Louverture International Airport, including several MaxxPro armored vehicles (35 planned https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42703-haiti-news-zapping.html ) weapons and other confidential equipment

In addition to receiving military equipment, the officers also received various resources to facilitate their mission, including washing machines and a host of other essential items.

Speaking on the images published on the internet, showing Kenyan police officers in front of the American Embassy in Port-au-Prince, the Mission Commander, Godfrey Otunga, made it clear that the armed Kenyan police officers, visible in the photos, were part of an escort that ensured his security, as well as those of other Kenyan leaders "Our officers were not there to guard the embassy but as part of a meeting taking place inside. We went to discuss many issues regarding more equipment for the troops."
