Haiti - Education : 80,000 students take remedial courses

More than 4,600 students in the 9th Fundamental Year (A.F.) and secondary 4 follow learning compensation courses in the 12 centers opened in the Departmental Directorate of Education (DDE) of the North.

The Lycée Dutty Boukman in Cap-Haitien welcomes the largest flow, i.e. 1,220 students, followed by the Lycée national de Pilate 664 students and in third position, the Lycée national de Plaisance 565 students.

These courses are given free of charge and are open to all students, whether they come from public schools or private schools.

Apprenticeship clearing centers in the North :

Dutty Boukman High School of Cap-Haitien;

Toussaint Louverture High School of Cap-Haïtien;

Philippe Guerrier High School of Cap-Haitien;

Lycée Jean-Baptiste Cinéas du Limbé;

Paul Eugène Magloire High School in Quartier-Morin;

Pilate National High School;

National High School of Plaisance;

Jean-Jacques Acaau High School in Port-Margot;

Mackandal High School in Borgne;

Pignon National High School;

Oswald Durand High School in Plaine-du-Nord;

Jean-Jacques Dessalines High School in Grande-Rivière du Nord.

During the launch of the Compensation for apprenticeship program at the beginning of June https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42289-haiti-important-resumption-of-the-learning-compensation-system.html , the Centers operated normally on Saturdays and Sundays. But with the end of the last annual check for the other classes, most have decided, with the approval of the DDE du Nord, to work from Monday to Friday. Students and teachers appreciate this timetable rearrangement which allows them to recover many more hours.

Nationally, apart from the Departmental Directorate of Education of the Center, the 45 learning compensation centers welcome nearly 80,000 students.
