Customs and insecurity
Friday July 12, Presidential Advisors Fritz Alphonse Jean and Leslie Voltaire met Julcène Édouard, Director General of the General Customs Administration (AGD) and several executives from that administration. They discussed how customs can help the country combat the phenomenon of insecurity. Fritz Alphonse Jean said customs should play their role in combating arms trafficking and imported toxic food products that the population eats.

Weather : Heat wave
Compared to the heat wave that has been affecting Haiti since the beginning of the week until now, the observation section of the International Airport recorded 37 degrees Celsius at 2:00 p.m.

The Hydro Meteorological Unit of Haiti asks the population:

- Protect yourself with appropriate clothing (loose, light and light-colored, etc...);

HELP University Scholarship Program

The former Mayor of Jacmel Edwin Daniel Zenny, alias "Edo", proposes the opening of the Haitian economy to foreign investments in order to facilitate the development of the country, convinced that Haitians alone will not be able to develop Haiti.

USD $3M for the economic empowerment of Haitian women
The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) launched this week its 5-year economic empowerment project for Haitian women, funded by the Taiwan Embassy in Haiti, to the tune of 3 million US dollars. This project will help women create jobs through their own small and medium-sized businesses, according to Taiwanese Ambassador Wen Jian KU.

Decentralized cooperation with France
Friday, July 12, the Embassy of Haiti in France welcomed a delegation from the Community of Municipalities of the Palmes Region, on the sidelines of its working visit to Paris to present the results of the basin development project slopes of this Region undertaken as part of its decentralized cooperation with the Agglomeration Community of Cergy-Pontoise. The Embassy welcomes the results obtained, particularly in access to drinking water for local populations.
