MSS - DR Meeting
On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the MSS Force Commander, GODFREY OTUNGE, paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic (DR) to Haiti, Farouk Miguel Castillo. Farouk reiterated his government’s commitment to supporting the Mission. Otunge expressed his gratitude to the Dominican government and welcomed any assistance and support that the Dominican Republic was willing to provide.

Medicines for CERMICOL
As part of its efforts to improve access to health care for vulnerable and marginalized people, PAHO/WHO provided medicines to the Haitian Prison Administration (DAP). These medicines are intended to treat common illnesses of inmates at the Center for the Rehabilitation of Minors in Conflict with the Law (CERMICOL).

Meeting on security priorities and visions
Canadian Ambassador to Haiti André François Giroux chaired a meeting of the International Security Assistance Coordination Group (ISAG) on Thursday morning, during which Prime Minister Conille, PNH Director General Rameau Normil and Multinational Security Support Mission Commander Godfrey Otunge, in the presence of more than twenty countries and international organizations gathered for the occasion, were able to share their security priorities and visions. Haiti’s partners are working closely together and are committed to supporting the PNH in its efforts to restore security. Canada is proud to facilitate the coordination of these efforts and will continue to support the Haitian people.

6th Haitian Youth Talk
The 6th Haitian Youth Talk was organized by a Haitian youth collective called KOZE JEN YO, this August 8, with the support of the Peace and Development Advisor (PDA) Unit. A public debate of young people whose objective is the adoption of a declaration concerning the agenda of Haitian youth during the period of political transition. Let us recall that in Haiti, youth constitute a significant segment of the population : 54% of the population is under 25 years old. This demographic weight should be used to consolidate stability in the country.
