Haiti - Security : Donation of secure radiocommunication equipment to the PNH (Video)

Rameau Normil The Acting Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian National Police (PNH) received a batch of secure radiocommunication equipment from the Embassies of the United States and Canada.

In his remarks, the Canadian Ambassador to Haiti, André François Giroux, stated that this move aims to improve the operational capacity of the Haitian National Police while ensuring interoperability with the Multinational Mission for Security Support (MMSS). "[...] These radios will improve the operational capabilities of the PNH and provide increased protection. These radios are a critical tool for coordination with the MMSS. We have managed to program them securely," said Ambassador André François Giroux, who thanked the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) "for helping deliver this important project."

For his part, the United States Ambassador to Haiti, Dennis B. Hankins, recalled that the United States is always at Haiti's side to help it get out of this crisis situation currently undermined by insecurity. According to him, this radiocommunication equipment will strengthen the capacity of Haitian police officers and those of the MMSS, particularly during joint operations.

On behalf of the PNH, Rameau Normil, while expressing his deep thanks to the Ambassadors and their respective governments, showed his level of commitment to the fight against insecurity in the country. "It is with deep enthusiasm and serene optimism that I receive, on behalf of the Haitian National Police, this equipment. I have always said it and I repeat it : Men, resources, a mission. This trilogy constitutes the basis of any security approach close to convincing results. [...] These lots of radiocommunication equipment will strengthen the PNH, guardian of the ideals of Peace, justice and public security."
