Due to the qualified majority requiring 5 votes out of 7, the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) is unable to sanction, to take measures or set aside the three members of the Council involved in the scandal of the National Bank of Credit (Louis Gérald Gilles, Smith Augustin and Emmanuel Vertilair) who represent a blocking minority making it impossible to obtain the 5 votes required to take a resolution against them. Haiti Embassies and Consulate Closed: The Embassy of Haiti in Washington DC, and the Embassy of Canada in Ottawa, inform that they will be closed for federal holiday (Labor Day), on September 2. Regular activities will resume on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. The Consulate General of Haiti in Miami informs the Haitian Community in Particular that its premises will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, 2024 on the occasion of "Labor Day".
