BNC : The 3 advisors untouchable by the CPT

Due to the qualified majority requiring 5 votes out of 7, the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) is unable to sanction, to take measures or set aside the three members of the Council involved in the scandal of the National Bank of Credit (Louis Gérald Gilles, Smith Augustin and Emmanuel Vertilair) who represent a blocking minority making it impossible to obtain the 5 votes required to take a resolution against them.

Chile Towards an agreement on fisheries

Woodly Simon, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Haiti in Chile, met with Soledad Tapia Almonacid, Director of the National Service of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Chile (SERNAPESCA) with a view to the upcoming signing of a cooperation agreement in the field of fisheries. This agreement will strengthen the capacities of Haitian fishermen through training, while providing them with modern equipment and appropriate funding.

Mexico : training Haitian police and military

Edgard Leblanc Fils, President of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), received in audience on Friday two members of the Mexican Embassy in Haiti, Jesus Cisneros, the Chargé d'Affaires and Ms. Joanna Gómez Rodríguez, Deputy Head of Mission. The discussions focused on bilateral cooperation between the two countries, Mexico's contribution to the training of Haiti's police and military forces, as well as several projects related to agriculture.

Friendly mini tournament in Turkey for our Grenadières

Our Grenadières (Corventina and her teammates) are invited to a friendly mini-tournament in October in Turkey. 4 teams are expected to participate in this tournament. Our Grenadières (53rd in the world) will face the Philippines (39th), Jordan (74th) and Mali (81st). 5 Haitian Young Ambassadors of the Francophonie

As part of the 7th Forum of Young Ambassadors of the Francophonie of the Americas held in Canada, out of more than 600 candidates, 50 were selected, including 5 Haitians: Ritzamarum Zétrenne, Laura Louis, Marc Sony Ricot, Judith Cénot, and Weldy Saint-Fleur. This forum offers high-level training on leadership, civic engagement and Francophone identity, leading to the title of Young Ambassador of the Francophonie of the Americas.

Haiti Embassies and Consulate Closed:

The Embassy of Haiti in Washington DC, and the Embassy of Canada in Ottawa, inform that they will be closed for federal holiday (Labor Day), on September 2. Regular activities will resume on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

The Consulate General of Haiti in Miami informs the Haitian Community in Particular that its premises will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, 2024 on the occasion of "Labor Day". Activities will resume on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 from 9:00 am.
