Yesterday, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, during the Council of Ministers, meeting in regular session under the chairmanship of the President of the Council President of Transition, Edgard Leblanc Fils, accompanied by the Councilors-Presidents, Smith AUGUSTIN, Louis Gérald Gilles, Fritz Alphonse Jean, Lesly Voltaire, Frinel Joseph and Emmanuel Vertilaire, and the Prime Minister, Garry CONILLE, as well as members of the Government, the following five Orders were adopted :

1) Order establishing the creation, organization and operation of the Truth, Justice, Reparation Commission (CVJR)

The CVJR is composed of the following personalities :

- Mr. Gardy MAISONNEUVE, President;

- Mrs. Marie Esther FELIX, Member;

- Mr. Renan HEDOUVILLE, Member;

- Mrs. Marie Elise Brisson GÉLIN, Member;

- Mr. Ocinjac BENJAMIN, Member;

- Mrs. Marie Yanick Mezile LHERISSON, Member;

- Mr. Paul Rachel A. CADET, Member.

2) Order appointing the members of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) and setting their mandate. These are the following citizens :

- Mrs. Schnaida ADÉLY, Representative of the Vodou Communities;

- Mr. Patrick SAINT-HILAIRE, Representative of the Episcopal Conference of Haiti;

- Mr. Peterson PIERRE-LOUIS, Representative of the Reformed Faiths;

- Mrs. Marie Florence MATHIEU, Representative of the University Council;

- Mr. Jacques DESROSIERS, Representative of the Journalists' Associations;

- Mr. Jaccéus JOSEPH, Representative of the Peasants' Associations; and

- Mr. Nemrod SANON, Representative of the Unions.

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), to be composed of nine (9) members, will be completed with the designation of the two (2) remaining members by Human Rights Defense Organizations and Women's Rights Defense Associations.

3) Order appointing citizen Jean François THOMAS as Director General of the National Agency for Protected Areas (ANAP);

4) Order appointing citizen Mr. Guy Roméro LATRY as Director General of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE);

5) Order declaring Monday, September 23, Tuesday, September 24 and Wednesday, September 25, 2024, days of national mourning, in memory of the people who died following the explosion of a tanker truck carrying gasoline, in Miragoâne, on the morning of Saturday, September 14, 2024.

The Presidential Transitional Council and the Government are determined to take all necessary measures to promote the rule of law, restore national dignity, hold democratic, free and credible elections, and ensure the functioning of the institutions of the Republic.
