Cap-Haitien celebrates the birth of Dessalines

As part of the celebration of the 266th anniversary of the birth of Jean-Jacques Dessalines, founding father of the Haitian Nation, a requiem mass was solemnly celebrated in the Cap-Haïtien Cathedral. This event was also marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the municipality and the Haitian Heritage Reflection and Action Group (GRAPH), thus officially initiating the project to restore the statue of Dessalines located on Notre-Dame Square, which was damaged three years ago by a person suffering from mental disorders.
