![]() Haiti - Corruption : ULCC makes powerful international allies 28/09/2024 09:45:38
This high-level forum was an opportunity for Director Joseph to contact and mobilize during bilateral meetings, state anti-corruption agencies and international institutions from various countries, around the fight against corruption in Haiti. During the Forum, Me Joseph reiterated the ULCC's commitment to stand together with the international community so that no refuge is granted to the corrupt. "All avenues will be considered to combat corruption and transnational organized crime, which threaten the foundations of democracy and social justice in Haiti." On the sidelines of this event, the ULCC also met with representatives of anti-corruption agencies from Spain, Chile, Belgium, Kenya, India, as well as key institutions such as the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) and Interpol. All committed to supporting the ULCC through training programs on modern investigative techniques, as well as the exchange of information and the conduct of joint investigations. These collaborations could facilitate the identification and freezing of public funds embezzled abroad, as well as the imposition of travel sanctions, or even the extradition, of Haitian personalities involved in acts of corruption and other forms of organized crime. With this operational network of transnational cooperation, composed of 219 anti-corruption agencies in 121 countries, the ULCC is gaining international allies to strengthen it in its mission to prevent and fight corruption in Haiti.
