Prime Minister Garry Conille, accompanied by the President of the Transitional Council, Edgard Leblanc Fils and Chancellor Dominique Dupuy, participated in New York at the Forum Reshaping the future : investment opportunities for economic transformation in New York, on the sidelines of the 79th regular session of the General Assembly of the United Nations

"The main objective of this Forum was to invite potential foreign investors to discussions around investment opportunities in promising sectors at the national level and in particular at the level of the two major regional hubs of the country : the North and the South.

The aim was to establish a direct channel of exchanges and interactions between the Haitian Government, through the Haitian Public Institutions in charge of promoting Foreign Direct Investments and private investors and investment funds who wish to do business in Haiti," explained the Haitian delegation to the Forum.

Specific objectives pursued :

• Rapid recovery of the economic situation;

• Social recovery;

• Maintaining available jobs;

• Creating new jobs;

• Boosting business partnership opportunities;

• Promoting investments in investment projects oriented towards public-private partnerships;

• Accelerating the dynamics of generating investment projects.

This was a unique opportunity for investors to discover projects with high potential in strategic sectors at the national level but particularly in the North and South regions of Haiti.

According to the Minister of Commerce and Industry James Monazard, speaking of the impact of this Investment Forum, he indicated in a press release that foreign investors have promised to invest more than 2 billion US dollars in Haiti. According to the Minister, about 7 companies have made a firm commitment to come and invest this sum in the country without any details on the sectors concerned...
