Haiti - Justice : Swearing-in and installation of CSPJ members (Video)

On Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the School of Magistrates (Route de Frères), Edgard Leblanc Fils, President of the Transitional Council, participated in the swearing-in and installation ceremony of the members of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), in the presence of Prime Minister Garry Conille, members of his Government, General of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) Derby Guerrier, Minister of Justice Carlos Hercule, President of the Court of Cassation Jean Joseph Lebrun, Acting Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) Rameau Normil, Ms. María Isabel Salvador, head of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), as well as many other personalities.

In his speech, President Leblanc Fils called for fair and accessible justice for all. He stressed that this ceremony demonstrates the determination of the Transitional Council to improve the efficiency of justice and strengthen the fundamental rights of the population. He assured the members of the CSPJ that resources and means will be provided to them to facilitate their mission.

8 of the 9 members of the CSPJ have taken the oath as Advisors within the High Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ).
