Following a resolution signed Friday, October 4 by 5 of the 7 presidential advisors, the rotating presidency of the CPT has been modified. Leslie Voltaire should replace Edgard Leblanc Fils at the head of the Presidential Council on Monday, October 7. Advisors Smith Augustin, and Louis Gérald Gille, would therefore have been removed from the Presidency due to allegations of involvement in the BNC corruption scandal https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43336-haiti-flash-the-ulcc-in-the-bnc-case-requests-criminal-actions-against-3-transitional-advisors-report.html , but they are maintained in their function. They will be replaced as President respectively by Fritz Alphonse Jean and Laurent St-Cyr. Pont Sondé Massacre : Words of Sympathy U.S. Embassy in Haiti : "We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the October 3 massacre in Pont-Sondé. We condemn in the strongest possible terms this violence by armed groups. The United States will continue to support the Haitian National Police and the MMSS in their efforts to urgently restore security throughout Haiti." Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General :, "Following the attack by a criminal group in Pont Sondé in Artibonite on October 3, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Maria Isabel Salvador and the United Nations in Haiti offer their condolences to the families of the victims and express their solidarity with the Haitian people. We must all support the authorities in their efforts to provide relief to the victims and their families. The perpetrators of these crimes and their sponsors must be identified, arrested and prosecuted." Embassy of France in Haiti : The Embassy of France in Haiti learned with horror of the attack carried out by armed individuals against the population of Pont-Sondé. The embassy presents its sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the families of the victims. France remains determined to support the Haitian authorities through its support to the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) and the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H), in the fight against insecurity.
