Several communities attacked

This week, many individuals armed with assault rifles attacked several communities in Port-au-Prince, including : Solino, Delmas 2 Tabarre 27, St. Michel... Several houses were looted and burned, families had to flee their homes. The number of victims among the population is unknown. But the death of at least 3 people has been confirmed.

PM visits 2 wounded soldiers

On Friday, October 18, 2024, Prime Minister Garry Conille visited two soldiers of the Haitian Armed Forces injured in operations against bandits in the Port-au-Prince Metropolitan Region. As with police officers in difficulty, the Government is committed to supporting the soldiers of the Haitian Armed Forces who are victims in the exercise of their duties.

The CPT discusses elections

On the eve of the official inauguration of the new Electoral Councilors, this October 18, 2024, the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) and the members of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) met to discuss the organization of the next electoral contests in Haiti. This meeting made it possible to address the main challenges to be met, such as, among others, the security necessary for the operations of the electoral process as well as the establishment of mechanisms aimed at guaranteeing a transparent, democratic, free and inclusive process.

"Haiti a regional threat"

Dominican Minister of Foreign Affairs Roberto Álvarez will participate on Tuesday, October 22 in New York, in a new meeting of the UN Security Council convened to monitor the insecurity situation in Haiti. During this meeting, Minister Álvarez intends to emphasize the position of the Dominican Republic on the threat that the situation in Haiti represents for his country and for the region.
