4,201 new displaced persons
Following the armed attacks that have occurred since October 17, 2024, particularly in the neighborhoods of Solino and Cité Numéro 2 and also in the neighborhood of Tabarre 27. In total, 4,201 people have been displaced, including 3,487 following the attacks in Port-au-Prince and Delmas and 714 following those in Tabarre. 2,565 people (61%), have taken refuge in sites, including 6 sites already existing before these incidents and 3 newly created sites. The rest of the people (39%) have taken refuge with host families. Imminence of a new attack in Pont Sondé
After the recent massacre of October 3 which left more than 100 dead https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43385-haiti-flash-the-partial-death-toll-from-the-pont-sonde-massacre-now-stands-at-115.html the leader of the gang "Gran Grif" Elan Luckson threatened the population of Pont Sondé with the imminence of a new attack.

"Barbecue" threatens journalists
Jimmy Chérizier aka "Barbecue" and Vitelhomme Innocent threaten journalists : Guerrier Dieuseul, Johnny Ferdinand, Loucko Désir and Esaue César. The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) condemns in the strongest terms the unacceptable threats made by criminals against journalists. "Freedom of the press is sacred and non-negotiable. The CPT expresses its unwavering support for all journalists in Haiti who courageously pursue their mission at the risk of their lives."

Fight against illegal arms trafficking
In an interview with VOA's Creole Service, Assistant Secretary Barbara Feinstein discussed changing the export regulations for goods leaving the United States to deter and combat illegal arms trafficking to Haiti. (to be continued...)

ATH : Evaluation of the tourism sector
The Haitian Tourism Association (ATH) in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, is organizing on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Villa Thérèse hotel 13 rue Léon Nau, Nérétte, Pétion-ville from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., a workshop focused on the evaluation of the tourism sector. This event will provide valuable data on the direct and indirect impact of the current crisis on the operations and development of tourism in Haiti.

Table tennis : Haiti Open 2024 Tournament
The Haitian Table Tennis Federation (FHTT) announces the 11th edition of the Haiti Open 2024 Tournament which will take place on November 1st and 2nd, 2024 at the Royal Oasis hotel, (Pétion-ville), in the Guiteau room, starting at 10:00 a.m. This high-level tournament will see the participation of the best table tennis players in Haiti. The draw for the matches will take place on Friday, October 25, 2024, starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Jazz’z restaurant (129 Louverture Street, in Pétion-ville).
