Haiti - Cap-Haitien : Promotion of the tourism sector

Haiti - Cap-Haitien : Promotion of the tourism sector

Cap-Haitien is attracting increasing interest from visitors, whether from Haiti or abroad, particularly from the diaspora. Some settle there, while others come to discover the city's many tourist attractions. However, despite this attraction, the tourist experience on site sometimes leaves a feeling of incompleteness.

Faced with this observation, the City of Cap-Haitien announces the creation of the Table de Concertation Communale (Table de Concertation Communale - TCC), a space dedicated to advocacy, consultation, networking, coordination and collaboration, bringing together local, national and international stakeholders. The objective is to collectively reflect on the actions to be undertaken in the short and medium term to boost and promote the city's tourism sector.

The official launch of this table will take place on October 24, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., at the Hôtel Roi Christophe, located at 24 B Street, around the theme "Tourism development of the Cap-Haïtien metropolis: Cap-Haïtien, land of opportunities".

This event will bring together the main players in the development of the city, including project leaders, universities in the Northern region, local investors and community organizations who will discuss the essential issues to restore Cap-Haïtien to its status as a privileged tourist destination, including :

• The enhancement of the coastline;

• The highlighting of the historic center, classified as a national heritage site since 1995;

• The exploitation of current and future tourism opportunities;

• The deficit of state investment in infrastructure;

• The quality of the offer of public and private services.

Following this first meeting, the Municipal Consultation Table (TCC) will meet every quarter to take stock of current initiatives, assess progress made and monitor decisions taken.

The Cap-Haitien City Hall therefore invites all local and national stakeholders, as well as all stakeholders, to participate in this event which marks the beginning of a new era for tourism in the city.

For any request for additional information or to confirm your participation, please contact Nelson Deshommes Director of Communication of the Cap-Haïtien City Hall
