Haiti - FLASH : 30,921 illegal Haitians (deported and repatriated) from the Dominican Republic in 20 days

Following President Abinader's decision of October 3rd, 2024 to deport and repatriate up to 10,000 illegal migrants per week https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43334-haiti-flash-repatriation-of-10-000-haitians-per-week-the-great-hunt-has-begun-in-the-dominican-rep.html , since the start of massive migration control operations, throughout the country, 30,921 Haitians in an irregular migratory situation have been arrested, deported or repatriated to Haiti between October 3rd and 23, 2024, to which must be added 10,105 "voluntary returns" of Haitians, for a grand total of 41,026 Haitians returned to Haiti in 20 days.

In response to the immigration operations carried out by the Specialized Corps for Land Border Security (CESFRONT), during this same period 4,078 Haitians were arrested and returned (2,588 men, 1,296 women, 194 minors (167 boys and 27 girls).

In addition, the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, promised to be relentless towards the military and others who participate in the trafficking of illegal migrants. During several operations 751 Haitians in an irregular situation subject to traffickers were arrested in recent days by members of the Army brigades and several Dominicans were brought to justice.
