Haiti - FLASH : Nearly 700,000 Haitians entered the US illegally under the Biden administration

Of the 14 million people reported to have crossed the border illegally under the Biden-Harris administration, nearly 2.5 million are from four countries - Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela - whose citizens were granted expanded legal entry through a conditional stay program created by U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Under the Biden-Harris administration, the largest number of illegal border crossings in U.S. history has been Haitians, with nearly 700,000 cases. The highest number was reported in fiscal year 2024 at 220,798, followed by 163,781 in 2023, 56,596 in 2022, and 47,478 in the 9 months of fiscal year 2021. Data represent fiscal years 2021-2024, excluding the first three months of fiscal year 2021 under the previous administration. The federal fiscal year runs from October 1st to September 30.

In addition, at least 211,000 Haitians have been legally admitted to the United States through the Conditional Stay Program (Biden).
