"[...] Haiti's biodiversity is not lost and it remains of crucial importance for the Haitian population and for the Latin America & Caribbean region. 'Haiti is the cradle of the historical Botany of America' said the Swedish botanist Erich Eichman at the beginning of the 20th century." Voltaire explained that despite the often unfavorable image projected in the international media, Haitian biodiversity retains all its vitality. "At the COP16 Tribune, I forcefully addressed the burning challenges of insecurity and the humanitarian crisis in Haiti. I reaffirmed my solemn commitment to work tirelessly to protect and restore our biodiversity, an essential pillar to reestablish our harmony with nature.
