Haiti - FLASH : Major police operation in Bas Delmas,«Barbecue» manages to escape

On Thursday, November 21, 2024, a large deployment of police officers involving special units including the PNH Intervention Group (GIPNH), SWAT and the Intervention and Maintenance Corps (CIMO) went on the offensive in Bas Delmas in the territory of Jimmy Chérizier alias "Barbecue."
During the intense exchanges of fire with the police, several bandits were fatally injured including "Ti Chinay" and "Ti Dyab" the latter being known for his hijackings of trucks transporting fuel, and containers of food products, both were active members of the "Viv Ansanm" coalition and close allies of "Barbecue".
At the time of these clashes "Barbecue" was present but managed to escape. In a video posted online the same day, "Barbecue" confirms that he confronted the police alongside his men without giving any further details...
In a statement dated Friday, the High Command of the PNH, under the leadership of Rameau Normil, reiterates its determination to combat organized crime in all its forms, but does not say a word about how "Barbecue", the most wanted man in Haiti, managed to escape the elite units deployed to neutralize some of his men and dislodge his gang...
