Haiti - Security : PM says he shares the legitimate concerns of the population

Following the recent events of November 19, 2024 in Pétion-ville https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43672-haiti-flash-attempted-takeover-of-petion-ville-at-least-28-bandits-killed.html , and the increase in acts of gang violence, measures have been taken by the new Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, to strengthen security in the main axes of the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince.

Fils-Aimé encourages citizen participation in the stabilizing work of social peace. He remains convinced that public security is a collective work. Sensitive to the values of unity and the common good, he urges the civilian population, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) to prioritize the general interest and the spirit of harmony.

Since the installation of the Government, efforts have intensified and have notably allowed the resumption of the distribution of petroleum products. The actions undertaken by the Government have also made it possible to provide assistance to displaced persons while respecting their rights and dignity.
