The "Gran Grif" Gang dismantled soon
On Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, the population in the lower Artibonite demonstrated to ask the police to carry out large-scale operations to dismantle the "Gran Grif" gang of Savien, exactly two months after the Pont Sondé massacre. Customs : more than 10 billion collected:

BNC : the 3 Presidential Advisors summoned by the courts
Judge Benjamin Félismé summoned Presidential Advisors Louis Gérald Gilles, Emmanuel Vertilaire and Smith Augustin as part of the investigation into the corruption case at the Banque Nationale de Crédit (BNC). Subpoenas were issued against these advisors, who are charged according to these warrants with abuse of office, bribery and passive corruption and who must appear before the magistrate, respectively on December 9, 10 and 11, 2024. The three Advisors and their lawyers have repeatedly stated that they will not appear, invoking their "immunity as Presidential Advisors". The CEP in retreat
Tuesday, December 3, 2024 in Cap-Haïtien, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), in partnership with the International Foundation for the Electoral System (IFES), began a 3-day retreat with 6 of the 7 appointed councilors and still 2 absent awaiting appointment... This retreat aims to prepare the referendum process and the organization of general elections, declared Ms. Schnaïda Adély, Vice-president of the CEP who specified "We are working tirelessly on fundamental axes such as the proposal of a decree for the referendum and the development of a referendum calendar."

HIV/AIDS on the rise among young people aged 15 to 24
A significant increase in the number of HIV/AIDS infections among young people has been observed in Haiti, according to UNAIDS Country Director Christian Mouala. 25% of new infections are in the 15 to 24 age group.

New Ambassador of Chile
On Tuesday, December 3rd, Leslie Voltaire, President pro tempore of the Transitional Council, received at the reception villa the credentials of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Chile to Haiti, Rioseco Vicencio. He replaces Ambassador Rodrigo Danoso Maluf at the end of his term.
