Haiti - Politic : Installation of two new Ministers Delegate to the PM
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Villa d’Accueil, two new Ministers Delegate to the Prime Minister, political scientist Joseph André Gracien Jean, responsible for electoral and constitutional issues, and Herwil Gaspard, responsible for Solidarity and Humanitarian Affairs, were installed by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé.

In his speech, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of the responsibilities entrusted to these new ministers, in a context where the country is going through a critical period.

Addressing Gracien Jean, he told him "[...] your mission is part of one of the most decisive projects of the transition, according to the terms of the Agreement of April 3rd, 2024 : the organization of transparent, honest and credible elections so that on February 7, 2026, the new leaders emerging from the ballot boxes take command of the national boat."

For his part, Herwil Gaspard is called upon to intensify humanitarian and social actions in favor of displaced persons and deportees and the Prime Minister told him "[...] you are called upon to act in favor of the most vulnerable, particularly in these times of crisis where thousands of our compatriots are forced to flee their homes due to the violence of armed gangs, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, in view of these many deported compatriots whom we welcome by the hundreds."

Taking turns to speak, the two Ministers Delegate reaffirmed their commitment to serve the Nation with professionalism and determination, by placing the interest of the population at the heart of their mission.
