Poste-Marchand attacked

Several houses were looted, others were set on fire, during an attack by armed bandits in Poste-Marchand (Port-au-Prince) last weekend. At least one person was killed during this attack and several others were injured. Panicked, several families have already fled the area to take shelter.

A judge kidnapped, a bailiff killed

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security deplores the kidnapping of Judge Méréus Dorlismé, deputy of the Peace Court of Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite and the assassination of Jean Claude Joseph, bailiff of the same court, killed in his residence in Petite Rivière. Formal instructions have been given to the Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Gonaïves to conduct an investigation and initiate legal proceedings against those responsible for this kidnapping and murder.

Massacre : Canada condemns

Canada strongly condemns the gang attack in Cité Soleil, Haiti, which claimed the lives of more than 180 people, most of them elderly. Our sincere condolences to the families of the victims. Increased security support is urgently needed to prevent further atrocities.

DR : 40% of births in November by Haitian mothers

According to the Dominican National Health Service records, in November 2024, 9,442 births were registered in public hospitals, including 3,777 (40%) to Haitian mothers and 60% to Dominican mothers. A 4.9% increase in Haitian births compared to 2023 for the same month.
