Guatemalan reinforcements arrive
Jean Harvel Victor Jean-Baptiste, the Minister of Foreign Affairs spoke on the phone with his Guatemalan counterpart Carlos Ramiro Martinez, who confirmed the dispatch to Haiti on December 22 of 150 police / military personnel to support the Haitian National Police (PNH) as part of its fight against insecurity. Petite Rivière: 10,000 people displaced
More than 10,606 people fled the commune of Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite, following the armed attacks that occurred on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 December 2024, according to figures provided by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) which specifies: 64% of these people fled to the commune of Verrettes. 95% have found refuge with relatives in host families, while 5% are housed in 4 newly created sites...

4,727 Haitians study in France
The Embassy of Haiti in France had a working meeting with Juliette Linarès, Deputy Director of the Geographic Coordination Department in charge of student mobility and Aude Chanson, Head of the Americas Service, of Campus France. The discussions focused in particular on the work of Campus France-Haiti, the issue of the language test required of Haitian students, the number of Haitian students in France as well as the scholarship programs available within the framework of bilateral relations. It should be noted that, for the academic year (2023-2024), 4,727 Haitian students were counted in France, all origins combined.
