Haiti - FLASH : Bernard Mevs hospital, target of several attacks

Between Sunday and Monday, December 16, 2024, the Bernard Mevs hospital, located in Village Solidarité (airport road) has been the target of several armed attacks.

The Haitian National Police reacted effectively and repelled these relatively young bandits, who threw numerous Molotov cocktails at the hospital.

Several attackers were fatally injured during the exchange of fire with the police between Sunday and Monday.

These attacks sowed panic among medical staff and patients...

An ambulance in the hospital courtyard was set on fire as well as at least two other vehicles

According to a hospital source, to strengthen the security of the hospital, the PNH would have set up a permanent presence inside the establishment to dissuade the attackers from further attempts...
