Haiti - Music : Propiano Caribe Competition 2025, call for applications

The Embassy of the European Union in the Dominican Republic, in collaboration with the Sinfonía Foundation, presents the 2nd edition of the ProPiano Regional Competition, with the aim of promoting the talent and creativity of young people who are passionate about the piano and have promising careers.

The initiative is funded by the European Union, implemented by the UNESCO Transcultura program that promotes the professionalization of young people from the Caribbean in the cultural and creative sector, as well as the creation of opportunities and access to new markets.

The 2nd edition of ProPiano Caribe is open to young piano students and pianists aged 18 to 26, born between March 18, 1998 and March 18, 2007 in one of the following Caribbean countries and territories : Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Cuba, Curaçao, Dominica, Grenada, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Guyana, Haiti, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Martinique, Puerto Rico, Saba, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Eustatius, Saint Martin, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago.

The President of the ProPiano Caribe Jury will select three finalists through virtual auditions, who will be invited to travel to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, for the final round in front of a jury of international experts, as well as for the closing concert that will take place on March 17 and 18, 2025.

Deadline for registration of applications : Friday, January 31, 2025 before 11:59 p.m. Dominican Republic time.
