Reactions to the attack on the General Hospital
The Prime Minister's Office :
"All our thoughts go out to the victims and their loved ones, following the attack https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43918-haiti-flash-bloody-inauguration-at-the-general-hospital-videos.html on December 24 against the largest hospital in the capital, which caused deaths and injuries among our compatriots. We are fully committed to supporting them and providing them with all the necessary support in these difficult times. Securing the premises, prosecuting those responsible for this heinous crime and quickly reopening the HUEH. The health and safety of citizens are among the Government's top priorities."

Presidential Transitional Council :
"What happened today [Tuesday], Christmas Day, at the General Hospital, where people, journalists and police officers were victims, is unacceptable. We express our sympathy to all the victims' families, particularly to the PNH and all journalists' associations. We guarantee that this act will not remain without consequences."

Ralph Youri CHEVRY, new President of the Interim Executive Council of Port-au-Prince :
"I condemn in the strongest terms the tragedy that occurred at the State University of Haiti Hospital, where police officers and journalists were victims. This tragic event illustrates once again the seriousness of the current security situation. The Interim Executive Council is committed to responding without delay to this unacceptable tragedy. Concrete and reinforced measures will soon be taken to guarantee the safety of citizens and prevent such tragedies in the future. We also call for collective mobilization to restore a climate of peace and justice."

Me André Michel :
"We strongly condemn the criminal attack by armed gangs on the occasion of the ill-timed reopening of the General Hospital on Tuesday, December 24. The political and police authorities will bear the moral responsibility for this new tragedy for having endangered the lives of peaceful citizens by acting carelessly. Responsible authorities do not have the right to lead people to the slaughterhouse. What is this business of reopening a hospital in an area totally controlled by gangs ? This is nonsense ! All our sympathies to the victims, especially the police officers and journalists who were victims at their workplaces! No dialogue with the Gangs ! No negotiation with the Gangs ! This is our position."
