Revocation of the Minister of Official Health

At least 7 dead and 17 injured in the incident of the ship Maelys Lome II

The Maritime and Navigation Service of Haiti (SEMANAH) reveals in a partial report that the capsizing at the quayside at the port of Varreux, of the ship Maelys Lome II https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-43922-icihaiti-varreux-capsizing-of-the-maelys-ii-boat-the-explanations.html is 7 dead and 17 injured, specifying that other bodies are still inside the hold. 2024 : A dark year for road transport

Changeux Méhu, President of the Association of Owners and Drivers of Haiti (APCH), gave a dark assessment of the year 2024 on the airwaves of a radio station in the capital. 30 drivers were killed, 576 freight trucks were set on fire, 246 were completely destroyed, and 167 were robbed. In public transport, nearly 200 passengers were kidnapped, 22 were killed, and 46 were shot and wounded.

Haiti in recession for the 6th consecutive year

According to the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics, the Haitian economy, for the 6th consecutive year, has continued to contract, recording a decline of 4.2% in 2024, the largest decline after the 5.7% recorded after the earthquake of January 2010. The country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), in constant value, is estimated at 568 billion Gourdes for the 2023-2024 fiscal year, compared to 592.7 billion for the previous fiscal year.

The Court of Auditors orders an audit of the CEP

The Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Disputes (CSC/CA) orders an audit of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to strengthen transparency and management of public funds.
