On Friday, December 27, 2024, the private Haitian company Sunrise Airways informed that the operating conditions at Cap-Haïtien airport pose technical and logistical challenges that have affected the company's flights in recent days on the Cap-Haïtien / Miami and Cap-Haïtien / Les Cayes circuit.

Since the closure of Toussaint Louverture airport in Port-au-Prince on November 11, Sunrise Airways has had to transfer all of its operations to Cap-Haitien in order to maintain domestic and international connections.

On December 22 and 23, adverse weather conditions forced the company to cancel several flights. This bad weather had a direct impact on the logistics and fluidity of our operations, already complicated by a fuel shortage at Cap-Haïtien airport.

Furthermore, the impossibility of operating flights at Cap-Haitien airport outside of sunrise and sunset times significantly limits our operational capacities.
