As part of the new year and the 221st anniversary of Haiti's independence, Godfrey Otunge, the Kenyan Commander of the Multinational Mission to Support the Haitian National Police (PNH) delivered a message of circumstance.

"As the world prepares to welcome 2025, 1 extend my heartfelt wishes, on behalf of myself and the Multinational Security Support {MSS) Mission fraternity in Haiti, to the Haitian Government and its people for a prosperous and peaceful New Year.

I would like to express my gratitude to the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), the Prime Minister, and the Haitian population for their continued support and cooperation with the MSS Mission.

Your commitment to our joint mandate, aimed at supporting the Haitian National Police {HNP) in restoring national security, has been invaluable.

I am deeply thankful for the progress we have achieved together through sacrifice, dedication, and hard work in building a safe and secure Haiti. Despite challenges, we have united to overcome them, and the New-Year renews our hope and determination to advance toward greater prosperity for the Haitian people.

Today, January 1, 2025, as the world celebrates the New Year, Haiti also commemorates its lndependence 1 Day. lt is a privilege and an honorto join the Haitian people in celebrating this historie occasion, which marks the nation's liberation from colonial rule.

The future of Haiti is bright, reflecting the vision and aspirations of Jean-Jacques Dessalines, the father of the nation. His unwavering commitment to Haiti's sovereignty and security continues to inspire us all.

Happy New Year and Happy lndependence Day !
