Haiti - Justice : Dominican Migration will act against Haitian minors who invade the streets of Dajabón

Faced with the growing number of Haitian minors on the streets of Dajabón who survive by begging in the province's food establishments, doing odd jobs or prostituting themselves or burglarizing... Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, the new Director General of Migration (DGM), on a supervision and coordination tour in the area, said he was waiting for the Haitian authorities to act so that these minor children remain in Haiti.

"We need Haiti to organize itself so that these minors are not forced to be outside their territory, in the meantime, we will apply what is established by the legal framework," said the Vice Admiral, showing the authorities of the municipality of Dajabón an area that will be reserved exclusively for the treatment of Haitian minors.

Most of the minors circulating in the province of Dajabón have been abandoned by their families. They sleep in parks and other public places, while they do their natural needs in abandoned houses or in vacant lots, which poses hygiene problems for the population.
