Haiti - PNH 34th promotion : 213 women ready to fight armed gangs
Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé participated in the graduation ceremony of the 34th promotion "Vertières" of the Haitian National Police (PNH) organized at the National Police School on the Road of Frères. This ceremony took place in the presence of members of the Government, Leslie Voltaire, President Pro tempore of the Transitional Council and members of the Council, Jean-Joseph Lebrun, President of the Court of Cassation, Patrick Pelissier Minister of Justice and Public Security, Rameau Normil, Acting Commander of the PNH and senior officers of the police institution, the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H), Godfrey Otunge, Commander of the Multinational Support Mission to the PNH, Maria Isabel Salvador Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Haiti and Head of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) and several Ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps...

This event chaired by Leslie Voltaire celebrated the integration of 739 new police officers, including 213 women (28.8%), ready to strengthen the ranks of the PNH in the fight against insecurity.

The Prime Minister, also President of the Higher Council of the National Police (CSPN), reiterated his unwavering support for the police institution. He recalled that these new recruits will have a crucial role to play in the fight against armed gangs and the restoration of public order, saluting the courage and professionalism of the police forces, urging them to continue their mission with determination and integrity "[...] Peace and stability are absolute imperatives [...] My government will spare no effort to restore security throughout the national territory."

In his speech on the situation, President Leslie Voltaire congratulated these new police officers who have come to strengthen the PNH workforce "[...] It is with great pride that I salute the 739 new police officers who have joined the national police [...] I congratulate them for their courage and determination to serve the country. [...]"

Reacting to the integration of 213 women in this 34th promotion, Pédrica Saint-Jean Minister of Women's Affairs declared "[...] It is with immense pride and a deep sense of satisfaction that I would like to salute the integration of 213 young women into the ranks of the National Police [...]

The commitment of these women illustrates not only their determination to serve and protect the Nation, but also their crucial role in strengthening representation within the police force. Their integration is a strong signal that gender barriers can and must be removed to allow everyone to contribute to the development of our country [...]

To these new policewomen, I extend my warmest encouragement. I am convinced that they will uphold the values ​​of the PNH and will be role models for many other young women who aspire to pursue careers traditionally perceived as masculine [...]"
