Haiti - Security : Overview of US Department of Defense support in Haiti

U.S. Southern Command released an overview of the Department of Defense’s support to Haiti’s airport security and the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) in early January 2025.

The United States continues to provide robust and multifaceted support to Haiti as it moves toward a more secure and prosperous future.

Department of Defense Support:

Airlift :
- 180 sorties flown to Haiti;
- 5,166 tons of cargo delivered;
- Civilian contractors transported.

Cargo delivered :
- Hygiene and sanitation;
- Construction materials;
- Sustainmemt (food, beverages, etc.);
- Heavy equipment;
- Medical equipment and supplies;
- Protective equipment;
- Non-lethal equipment;
- Vehicles.

Support :
Reestablishment of security at the Port-au-Prince airport and maintenance of the Mission.
