Trump : Decisions "catastrophic" for Haiti

Leslie Voltaire, President pro tempore of the Transition Council, told The Associated Press in Rome after meeting with the Pope at the Vatican that the Trump administration's decisions to freeze aid programs, expel migrants and block refugees will be "catastrophic" for Haiti.

Suspension of foreign aid for 90 days

Marco Rubio, the new US Secretary of State, announced the suspension of all US foreign aid for 90 days, with the exception of military aid to certain strategic countries (Egypt and Israel), while a complete review of all programs is conducted to ensure that these aids are effective and consistent with President Trump's foreign policy. Emergency food aid is exempt.
