Haiti - Diaspora : Haitians threatened by Trump, MHAVE proposes to provide a unified and effective response

Faced with the growing challenges facing our compatriots in the United States, particularly those under threat of deportation, Kathia Verdier, Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), is strengthening her collaboration with diaspora organizations to provide a unified and effective response.

Speaking at the 16th Annual Leadership Summit of the National Haitian American Elected Officials Network (NHAEON) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-44150-icihaiti-diaspora-16th-annual-nhaeon-summit.html the largest coalition of Haitian-American elected and appointed officials in the United States, the Minister proposed:

- To offer legal assistance and administrative support to our brothers and sisters in precarious situations;

- To mobilize the necessary resources to provide them with immediate humanitarian support;

- To work with the authorities concerned to ensure that their rights and dignity are respected.

Recalling "Migration is a fundamental human right. Our duty is to act with humanity, by offering our compatriots unwavering support. Their resilience in the face of adversity requires that we be their shield. Haiti will always fight for its children, wherever they are. Haiti will never turn its back on its children. We remain mobilized to defend their rights and offer them the assistance they need."
