Haiti - FLASH : The Government takes strong measures for concrete results
On Friday, January 31, 2025, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé chaired a Government Council at the Prime Minister's Office, bringing together Ministers and Secretaries of State to assess the progress of major national projects.

In his opening remarks, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to effective, dynamic, results-oriented governance and stressed the urgent need to step up efforts to meet the country's major challenges, particularly in terms of security, economic growth and institutional governance.

Acceleration of government action :
Aware of the pressing legitimate expectations of the population, the Government is committed to implementing a series of structuring measures aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of public action. Fils-Aimé recalled that the success of government action is based on a coherent and concerted approach, strengthened coordination and increased government discipline. He called on each Minister to fully assume their responsibilities and propose concrete initiatives within the framework of the state of emergency, an essential tool to respond quickly to the needs of the population.

Intensification of the fight against insecurity :
- Purchase of equipment to strengthen the Haitian National Police (PNH) and the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H);
- Enhanced training to improve the efficiency of the security forces;
- Strategic coordination for faster and more effective interventions.

A budgetary framework that meets the challenges :
The Government insisted on the role that the investment budget must play in promoting economic recovery and targeting productive sectors as a priority. Clear instructions were given to the ministries concerned to accelerate the disbursement process and ensure the execution of projects, among others, in infrastructure, education, agriculture, industry.

Transparent and rigorous governance :
Compliance with institutional procedures remains a priority to ensure transparency, accountability and good management of public funds. The Prime Minister stressed the need to submit all projects to rigorous validation, ensuring their alignment with national development objectives.

Proactive and structured diplomacy :
Haiti, as an actor in the international community, must strengthen its presence on the world stage. To achieve this, a diplomatic calendar listing all international events that require the country's attention is put in place.

A call to action for a better future :
The Prime Minister urged each member of the government to intensify their efforts and redouble their vigilance to strengthen public action. He called for unwavering mobilization of the government team to meet the expectations of the Haitian people.

"Our Government has the responsibility to produce concrete and immediate results. We must move forward with determination, because it is through action and commitment that we will build a more stable, safer and more prosperous Haiti."
