The Visa Application Center for Brazil (CAVB) in Haiti operated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM - Haiti) informs that due to the overall security situation, the CAVB will not operate this Monday, February 3rd, 2025. Several schools closed Following threats of violence made by gangs in the capital, several educational institutions, including Saint-Louis de Gonzague and École Jean-Marie Guilloux, announced on Sunday, January 2nd, the closure of their establishments on Monday, February 3rd, 2025, in order to protect the lives of students and their staff. 2 active members of the "400 Mawozo" arrested in the DR Saturday, February 1st, 2025. Two active members of the "400 Mawozo" Lory Thermidor and Louis Jean Robenson, were arrested in the Dominican Republic. These two individuals were handed over by the Dominican authorities to the Land Border Police (PoliFRONT), at Belladère, Center department. According to the Dominican Police, other members of the criminal gang 400 Mawozo, which sows terror in Haiti, were arrested during operations carried out at different points on the Dominican border. The National Conference consults the diaspora As part of the National Conference Conference, the steering committee continues its discussions with various personalities in order to strengthen dialogue and the inclusion of the Haitian diaspora. In this capacity, Joram Vixamar, member of the steering committee, led several meetings in New York with the Haitian diaspora. This process is part of the five strategic axes defined by the Government.
