As part of the weekly meetings "Les Mardis de la Nation", Augustin Antoine, the Minister of National Education, spoke in this 3rd edition, to address the many challenges facing the Haitian education system and the essential measures to ensure its revitalization in all its dimensions.

Minister Antoine stressed the urgency of strengthening free and universal access to preschool, both in urban and rural areas.

He also announced that a priority component would be devoted to the training of instructors, who will benefit from educational programs harmonized at the hemispheric level.

Among the major projects of the Ministry is the implementation of the new secondary school adapted to contemporary realities, accompanied by an in-depth reform of the curricula of the fundamental school.

The decentralization of knowledge is also a priority, in particular through the development of technical courses accessible to a wider audience, without neglecting substantial interventions in the higher education sector.

In accordance with the Ministry's strategic plan aimed at simultaneously improving the conditions of students and teachers, the Minister called on the unions to participate in the creation of an expanded Commission whose mission is to continue discussions and define a new direction for the Haitian school.
