Two police officers killed
On Friday, February 14, 2025 in the evening, two police officers were shot dead in a club in Delmas 40B, Gregory Pierre Michel (agent 4), 20th promotion, assigned to the Port-au-Prince Police Station and Stanley Dénizé (agent 2), 33rd promotion, assigned to the General Security Unit of the National Palace (USGPN). For the moment, the police do not have any information on the circumstances of the death of these two agents, the Club was closed when the Justice of the Peace arrived to make his report and was unable to collect any testimony... An investigation is open...

Obituary : Death of artist Critz Sterlin
The Ministry of Culture is deeply affected by the death of Haitian-born artist Critz Sterlin (aka Félix Cumbe), which occurred on February 11, 2025, in the Dominican Republic, at the age of 60, following a cardiovascular accident (stroke). This icon of Haitian-Dominican music thrilled music lovers on both sides of the island. The Ministry extends its condolences to the parents, friends and fans of Critz Sterlin.

The Embassy of Haiti in Washington DC will be closed on Monday, February 17 for the Federal Holiday : "President's Day". Regular Embassy activities will resume on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
